Liguria is a traditional Italian region, where evergreen hills and the deep blue Mediterranean sea characterises its coasts.
Liguria has much to offer and a magical atmosphere. The landscape changes from area to area and the coastline is formed by little pebble beaches and small bays. There are many monuments which witness elegant architecture.
The north-western part of Liguria is called the Flowers Riviera and here we can find the towns of Imperia, Savona and San Remo.
Genoa is the regions main town and it’s considered a classic-modern metropolis due to the international commercial port that covers most of Genoa’s gulf. Further south of Genoa there’s Portofino. This village is renowned for its yacht port and as a meeting point for the international jet-set. Leaving Portofino you enter the area of the Cinque Terre.

This part of the coastline going south, is formed by 5 tiny fishmen villages, cleverly built of the cliffs. This area is today a National Park and a Protected Maritime Area recognised by the UNESCO as “Manskind World Heritage”.On the southern point of the region there is the town of La Spezia. This area is called the “Gulf of the Poets” because for centuries poets and writers were attracted by the villages of Portovenere, Lerici and Tellaro, where they were inspired by the unbelievable view of the gulf. Finally, just outside the town of La Spezia you will find yourself in the rural tranquillity of the Val di Vara. This area is crossed by the River Magra which flows along the Magra Valley leading you behind Monte Marcello where it spills into the Mediterranean sea.The Magra Valley marks the border between Liguria and Tuscany and it is here that you will find important artistic and historic remains such as the Roman Amphitheatre and the ruins in the area of Luni.
